At the turn of the century, there was a great deal of construction happening in New Zealand. Many of the new British settlers wanted to build homes and community meeting places, such as churches. One of the largest
buildings to be constructed during this period was St
Joseph’s Cathedral in Dunedin.St Joseph’s Cathedral is just one of hundreds of beautiful
cathedrals around the world.
Cathedral #1 - Milan Cathedral
One thing I like about the Milan cathedral , Is it's large amount of space . It means lots of space to walk around , Chat to other people and pray to your lord . It's the third biggest cathedral today .
Cathedral #2 - St Basil's Cathedral , Moscow Russia . This cathedral is great in style . Both inside and outside . It is quite colorful if you look at the inside . I think they weren't just there for show but they're there because they mean something . But , They could have a little more room for people to walk through .
Cathedral # 3 - Salisbury Cathedral . This cathedral does have big space as well , but the seats , have a little less ' cathedral ' feel . I'm not saying the cathedral's bad but It just needs a little more of that cathedral feel . Their glass painting of god or someone else are great either way .
Cathedral #4 - Sagrada Familia Barcelona, Spain. This church is just ... wow. It's big but not just big , It is really colorful at the same time .
And Finally Cathedral #5 - St Joseph's Cathedral . A great church . One of many built in New Zealand I think . Either that or there's just one cathedral . That'd be kind of stupid though . So I'd say there's more than just one cathedral in New Zealand. I think this is one of the most important cathedral in New Zealand .

Kia ora LJ,
ReplyDeleteYour cathedral choices are really amazing! They are so majestic and beautiful! For the future I want you to consider when adding several pictures, to reference each picture individually.
However, for this task you are required to choose 1 cathedral around the world and make a post about it. See activity description: "Use your search engine to find a picture of another famous cathedral. Post a picture of the cathedral on your blog. Underneath the picture tell us: the name of the cathedral, where the cathedral is located, when it was built, and how long it took to build. "
In order for you to gain full points for this activity I need you to do that and let know.
For the future I will suggest that you create the habit of copy an paste the activity task in your post in order to keep you on the right track with your answers.
Dig in and keep blogging!
Kia kaha,
Patricia
