As I finish primary , I move onto the next stage of my life . College . It's going to be kinda scary having to talk to people that I don't really know Im gonna get use to that . But I have some of my old friends by my side and I sort of know some people that are at T.C . ( Tamaki College ) . Tamaki College is a great college . I will take what I have learned from primary and use it in College . It may give me the help I need along with my friends to get me going in Tamaki College.

Tamaki Primary : Goodbye ... For Now.
Today ... Was the final day in which we got to see our friends . Both year 8 and year 7 . It was sad for all of us to see them go . It wasn't long before people started crying . But , at the same time , We had to farewell two AMAZING teachers . Ms Thompson & Ms Morrison . They were both great teachers as they will be missed by their students and tamaki family . I too will miss my tamaki family as I was put into sadness saying that I will have to leave my other friends behind . Next Year , It is the Year 7's turn to lead as they will take on the role of the year 8's next year . I hope they will do the school proud as the little kids will look upto them.
I will come to visit some time soon to see how things are going .

Summer Learning Journey : Bonus Activity: Waka Ama
To this day, the people of New Zealand still use waka. Instead of using their waka to transport them from one place to another, they sometimes use waka in special events and in sporting competitions such as Waka Ama. Both boys and girls compete in Waka Ama boat races.
Watch this short video of a Waka Ama race. On your blog tell us whether you would like to be in a Waka Ama race one day. Why or why not?
BONUS ACTIVITY : WAKA AMA
Question : Would I Like To Participate ?
Yes . I would like to participate .
Why , You Ask ?
Taking part in a Waka Ama race would mean that I would have to be really fit and strong in order to paddle as fast as I can in order to get to the other side along with few other people . I've just watched the video about it and it looks really exciting . The amount of energy it must take would probably be endless . So I would like to give it my best shot .
Summer Learning Journey : Activity #2 :Setting Sail
Activity #2 : The first settlers to come to New Zealand must have been really brave! They had to leave their original homes and sail thousands of miles across the ocean on a special boat called a waka to reach New Zealand.
Imagine that you were on board one of the wakas. On your blog, write a short letter to a friend telling them about your voyage to New Zealand. In the letter be sure to tell them how you feel about moving to a new country. If it was me, I would have felt really nervous…
My Letter To Vuni .
Hey Vuni , Today's the day I am going to set sail and travel across the seas. This , for me is a great opportunity to learn about new things as for the first time ever , I will be sailing in a waka . It's exciting , but at the same time , scary . For I've never been on a waka before . We have sailed across some part of the sea and have seen many exciting things . Like Whales! . We have had some on and off times with the weather but , that wouldn't stop us from getting back to NZ . I have managed to stay safe and I hope to see you the next time I come back .

Wish You All The Best , By LJ.
Summer Learning Journey Activity #1 : The First Settlers : Facts About Maui
Maui . What have I learned from this famous demigod . You see that Maui pop up in the movie moana but you're probably thinking of the wrong Maui . The Maui I come to explain is the Maui from the maori culture .
Fact #1 - His Hook : One thing I have learned is something that some people already know is that he gained his hook which was a jawbone that belonged to his ancestor Muri Ranga Whenua .
Fact #2 - Fishing Skills : Maui was really ambitious about going fishing with his brothers and claimed he had the skills to fish alongside them . He proved that and managed to pull a giant fish that pulled them across the sea .
Fact #3 - His Spirit : Maui was a type of person that would never give up no matter what . He proved this when he pulled a giant fish out of the sea even when his brothers were scared , He never gave up on catching the fish to feed his family.

Coming Up : Summer Learning Journey
Today , The members of the summer learning journey came over once more to give us a heads up on the summer learning journey in the holidays . The summer learning journey is a blogging program for the years 4 to 8 to do in the holidays if we have nothing to do . We have alot of time during the holidays to blog . But since I'm a year 8 , I might not be here to get the award so they're dropping it off to my next school . Tamaki College . For each blog , even comment , we get a number of points . A bonus is if you do a bonus activity , you get 10 points I think .
It is going to be a really cool program since I have done it before . I hope to win a prize or certificate.
